On Sunday 9th April, my boyfriend will be participating in a run/walk from Shoeburyness to Leigh-on-sea to raise money for Fibromyalgia awareness. Both his mum and I suffer with the condition and have had to leave full time work because of it. Fibromyalgia has become the pinnacle of our lives leaving little room for much else. Matthew has always made the effort to learn more about the condition by accompanying me to appointments and my support group. For some time, he has wanted to do something to raise money for the condition to help aid the research process.
For the past 2 years, he has been attending the Porters Soccorbility club, a disability football club in Essex. The opportunity arose for him to do a charity run alongside the team to raise money for the special Olympics Essex football team. He asked his manager whether he would be able to take part but, raise money for Fibromyalgia. He put together a sponsorship form and we set up a GoFundMe page. We would really appreciate sponsors which will not only raise money for the charity but, will raise the awareness of the condition. When I was first diagnosed, I knew nothing about the condition but, after a lot of research and talking to like-minded people, I now feel more confident talking about it. Your sponsors will help fund more research and build the confidence of other people suffering with the condition.
All the money that we raise will be donated to Fibroawarenessuk 🙂

I will be sharing another post after the run to update everyone on how much we raised.
