Day of the dead festival – Limbo

Just a short post about spending last Saturday night at the day of the dead festival. It may seem like nothing to others but, for me it was a big achievement 🙂

In our sessions over the last couple of weeks we have been encouraged to set both long- term and short-term goals. The first weekend after my week at the pain program I had  planned to go out but my body said otherwise. This made me more determined to stick  with my plans the following weekend. I had paid for tickets to go to the day of the dead  festival at the Troxy which is something i had been looking forward to for some time.  The festival didn’t start until 9 and ended at 2 so i was a bit worried that i would    struggle to make it through the night. However, i managed to go with my boyfriend and  it was  such an amazing night. We got our faces painted, listened to great music, watched the  performers, had a few drinks and had a dance. For the first time in a while i felt like a  regular 24 year old with not a care in the world. I really lost myself in the music and  wasn’t thinking about my pain or how tired i would be by the end of the night. We ended up getting  home at almost 4am and by that point we were both pretty exhausting but it  was so worth it. I am so glad that i managed to stick to my goal and go out and enjoy  myself.

Here are a few pictures of our night 🙂
