Day of the dead festival – Limbo

Just a short post about spending last Saturday night at the day of the dead festival. It may seem like nothing to others but, for me, it was a big achievement 🙂

In our sessions over the last couple of weeks, we have been encouraged to set long and short-term goals. The first weekend after my week at the pain program I had planned to go out but, my body said otherwise. This made me more determined to stick with my plans the following weekend. I had paid for tickets to go to the day of the dead festival at the Troxy which is something I had been looking forward to for some time.

The festival didn’t start until 9 and was planned to end at 2 so I was a bit worried that I would struggle to make it through the night and then have the energy to travel home. However, I managed to go with my boyfriend and we had such an amazing night. We got our faces painted, listened to great music, watched the performers, and had a few drinks and a dance. For the first time in ages, I felt like a regular 24-year-old with not a care in the world. I really lost myself in the music and wasn’t thinking about my pain or how tired I would be by the end of the night. We ended up getting home at almost 4am and by that point, we were both pretty exhausted but, it was so worth it. I am so glad that I managed to stick to my goal and go out and enjoy myself.

Here are a few pictures of our night 🙂
